Is there a piece of furniture that deploys the dog’s bed on its own?
In short
Yes. Alegory has designed and patented a sensor system that can be built into Domus Deorum pieces: the pet sniffs the furniture, the bed slides out, several safety sensors keep watch while it is in use and the module retracts once the pet leaves. The pieces are also available with manual operation.
Alegory starts from a question about living together: what happens in the spaces people and pets share, when they are together and when the pets are left alone, and which of each one’s needs come into conflict. That reflection led to a system of furniture with intelligent mechanisms that lets functions overlap without compromising the needs of any member of the family.
How it works
- Sensors are fitted in different areas of the structure. The pet sniffs, activates the system and the bed slides out, giving it access to its resting area.
- Several safety sensors tell the central system that the pet is using its bed.
- When the pet leaves, the sensors report that it is no longer nearby and the system retracts the module.
Why autonomy matters
The system lets pets interact with the furniture without depending on people. That autonomy makes it easier to reach beds or food, and lets owners plan for all of it so the pet feels comfortable and cared for.

Manual or automated
Domus Deorum pieces are available with manual operation, and the advanced automation system is built in on request, with its own lead times. Each project decides whether to include the sensors.

- Can the bed retract with the pet on it?
- No. Several safety sensors tell the central system that the pet is on its bed, and the module retracts once they report that the pet is no longer nearby. The bed deploys without compromising the animal’s safety at any moment.
- Do all pieces have it?

- Is it protected?
- Yes. The system is patented and registered internationally, and Alegory’s designs hold intellectual property and industrial design registrations in Europe and the rest of the world.
